What sort of media product will be best for me?
With the ever increasing range of media platforms, it’s difficult to identify the best option.
The situation is complicated by the fact that there is an increasing cross over between media types and delivery systems.
For instance, the term “video” can now mean many different things. This word can refer to the media format (eg PAL, NTSC, Digital), the development platform (eg Quicktime, BetaCam SP, Digital BetaCam, DVCam, DVCPro, MiniDV), or the delivery platform (eg VHS video tape, Webstreaming, Video CD, DVD, Broadcast). And that’s just to name a few.
Different combinations of media format, development platform and delivery platform can be used to achieve different outcomes. The choices made can result in vast differences in the cost, timeframe, risk, quality and effectiveness of your product.
Choices can only be made in reference to your objectives.
What characteristics will the media product need to have? Does it need to be interactive? To what degree? Will it be viewed by a single user or groups? Is it a stand alone resource or support media? How big is your target audience?
At what point will the trade off between cost and quality start to impact on the products effectiveness?
At media@work, we want to create the product that best meets your need, so before undertaking any media development, we perform a free needs analysis to help you answer these questions.
We can help you make sure you only pay for what you need.
